Description
My Wagyu herd is growing and I am diversifying my farming ventures, quickly outgrowing the size of the family farm. Looking for options for growth, whether overall or to focus on a single aspect of production. Currently raising Wagyu for premium beef, layers and broilers, garlic, and culinary herbs.
I’ve spent the majority of my adult work life operating a landscape and property maintenance company for the past 20 years. Most recently focusing on the maintenance of local municipal athletic fields and providing specialty services to other local farms including specialty fencing and even forestry mowing. I have extensive equipment, maintenance and construction knowledge and am now looking to turn a farming hobby into a living. My skills and knowledge mean properties requiring work do not concern me so long as the terms are logical.
My partner’s experience is in organic and sustainably produced vegetables on both a market garden and commercial production scale so we’d love to tie that in.
Ideas we’ve floated to diversify operations include operating a sugar bush, utilizing high tunnels for conventional and specialty crops, increasing the size of the garlic operation and working to incorporate several Agritourism opportunities. Basically , we are interested in talking if you have property in New London or Windam counties that could potentially fulfill our needs for growth or diversification. Currently actively farming in Preston and Scotland.
Larger properties beyond New London and Windam counties are also of interest.
