My name is Nadia Kazi, and I'm a passionate gardener with an unwavering love for animals and a bold vision for transforming Connecticut's food system. From the very beginning, I found solace and joy in nurturing plants and watching them flourish, and over the years, this hobby has blossomed into an all-encompassing passion for sustainable farming.

My heart lies in two primary areas: gardening and animals. I find immense fulfillment in tending to plants, witnessing the magic of growth from tiny seeds to bountiful harvests. Gardening is not just a hobby; it's a way of life for me – an opportunity to connect with nature and understand the beautiful intricacies of the ecosystem.

With this passion driving me, I have a compelling vision to start a poultry and organic vegetable farm that can contribute to a more sustainable and ethical food system in Connecticut. My dream is to establish a place where animals are raised in harmony with nature, providing them with ample space and care to lead happy, healthy lives. Simultaneously, I envision growing a diverse range of organic vegetables, fostering biodiversity, and promoting the concept of farm-to-table eating.

To equip myself with the necessary skills and knowledge, I joined the urban farming program at an organization named Knox, situated in the heart of Hartford. This incredible experience has not only deepened my understanding of sustainable farming practices but has also allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals who share the same zeal for creating a positive impact on our local food system. 

Now, I am actively seeking 1-2 acres of land to bring my vision to life. A place where I can establish a model poultry and vegetable farm, showcasing the beauty and efficacy of sustainable agriculture. My aim is not just to grow food but to cultivate a sense of community and awareness around the importance of conscious farming.
