Description
When I am on a farm, I just feel a sense of home and a feeling of being grounded. Since 2010 I have been farming. In 2017, I leased land in Long Island, NY, and launched HeartBeet Farms, a sustainable farm focused on connecting people to where their food comes from. I was focused on education, plant-based eating, and making available sustainable produce through several distribution channels (including CSA, a mobile farm stand truck, farmers markets) and strategic partnerships (including local universities, hospitals, malls, apartment complexes, governments) . Sadly, I closed my farm in August 2021, as I made a decision to discontinue the lease. One day, in the future, I plan to purchase my own land and continue my farming mission once again. I have a unique entrepreneurial, business, marketing, and agricultural skill set and an innate ability to connect people and projects. I have elevated and connected many farms and product companies on Long Island. HeartBeet Farms grew so quickly because of the partnerships that I created. I established more partnerships than what the farm could produce and would then engage and involve other farms to support our goals.
Two of my favorite parts of farming was educating people of all ages on a diversity of topics and learning from other growers - I miss the education and learning the most! I am a person of strong integrity and passion -especially when it comes to agriculture and am looking for land where I can re-create and expand the vision I have for HeartBeet Farms. I am focused on moving my vision to CT. (heartbeetfarms.com is my website)
Sincerely, Jennifer Ross
