The Tolland County Agricultural Center, Inc. (an agricultural education focused nonprofit) has up to 13 acres of farmland available for use. Preferred tenant would be a beginning farmer (USDA definition of less than 10 years) with experience and a strong business plan. The farm is currently in conventional hay production, but good soils and gentle slopes make it suitable for a wide variety of crops. Has easy access to markets with road frontage and close proximity to an I 84 intersection. Room available for the development of high tunnels and greenhouse. In addition, the farm offers a unique opportunity (but is not required) for a possible partnership with the adjacent Tolland County Agricultural Center and UConn Extension Center for research, education, and the development of additional farm infrastructure. The farm is protected with a farm friendly conservation easement.
