Soils

I moved here in 2025. I do not know a lot about the soil. It appeared to be a sandy loam where I planted my flower gardens.

Is the farm land protected under any conservation easements or other programs?

Yes

If so, what kind of easement or program is in place?

This is a 28-acre property (with an additional 10 acres that have not yet been cleared), but there is conservation land and wetlands that cannot be used. There is an easement on the driveway, so two additional lots may be accessed. I do not own those lots.

Have you applied for a restoration grant for the property?

No

Description

102 North Main St consists of 28 acres, many of which are wetlands or conservation land. 106 North Main St is about 13 acres, some of which is wetlands. 106 has not been cleared. I would guess there are about 8 acres that could be used for growing. There are ponds and streams all around. I would suggest that a prospective farmer visit the property and see it to determine whether it is suitable for their purposes.
